Bartridge Cottage is just outside the village
of Umberleigh on the side of the Taw valley. It is approximately
8 miles from the market towns of South Molton, Torrington and
Barnstaple. Umberleigh has its own single track railway station
and there are trains to Exeter 32 miles distant and Barnstaple.
The journey time by car from the Tiverton junction of the M5 is
approx. 45 minutes. Bristol is 1 hour 45 minutes away by car.
The famous Tarka trail cycle track links villages south of Torrington
with Bideford, Instow, Barnstaple and Braunton along a disused
railway line. Exeter is 40 minutes drive away
A 20-minute walk over the fields brings
you to the local village. The area has many pubs and tea-rooms
serving excellent good value food and catering for children.
The nearest pub, less than a mile away,
won North Devon's best pub food award in 2000 and our other
local won the Times pub of the year award.
The cottage is furnished and equipped to an
exceptionally high standard. The two bedrooms have duvets and
linen supplied, fitted wardrobes and attractive furnishings.
Bedroom one has a four poster bed, single bed and views towards
Exmoor. Bedroom two has full size pine bunk beds. A cot and
